WHAT HAPPENED?
Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku did not take part in team training ahead of City's meeting with Fluminense in Friday's final, with the duo continuing with individual programmes instead. The pair – along with Kevin De Bruyne – were all cut from Pep Guardiola's 23-man squad for the tournament on Tuesday despite flying out to Saudi Arabia. De Bruyne did take part in team training on Thursday.

WHAT GUARDIOLA SAID
Guardiola remained tight-lipped when asked about the fitness of Haaland and Doku. He said: "We are one day before to play one competition, one final, to be here once in a lifetime. I have time to think about that."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Doku has not featured for City since December 3 due to a muscle injury, while Haaland has been absent since December 6 with a foot problem. De Bruyne has missed the last four months after undergoing surgery on his injured hamstring but is still some way off returning to action.

WHAT NEXT FOR HAALAND, DOKU AND CITY?
With no time frame given for Haaland and Doku's absences, both are doubtful to feature against Everton on December 27. City will be looking for a positive result at Goodison Park after winning just one of their last six league games.
